AEPMA President's Annual Report 2015

Posted on: 28/05/2015

AEPMA has again had another successful year of growth and engagement with various shareholders and government regulators.

Significant progress has also been made on our core projects, specifically Codes of Practice in respect of consumer awareness and Pest Manager compliance with the documents.

In this past year we have also progressed our two new CoP’s that address termite management, to almost complete first drafts, that hopefully will be then ready for expert technical working party review and completion prior to our conference next year.

Pest Manager of the Year, once again, has been hugely successful as an initiative to showcase professionalism and innovation from within the pest management industry.  The Awards also give AEPMA an insight and valuable feedback from the industry, that in turn, we evaluate and consider in our ongoing strategic planning and direction, and I believe that the AEPMA Board and our executive team has done an excellent job of getting these awards to this point.

Our 2014 national conference in NSW again built on the strengths of the previous events of recent years.  The result was an excellent conference that delivered great value to the majority of attendees, both exhibitors/sponsors and Professional Pest Managers.

Partly as a result of our current track record, and that the Australian Pest Management Industry is seen by our regional neighbours as a very professional and innovative industry, we are fortunate that we have again been asked to host the International FAOPMA Conference in Australia in 2016.  This event will be hosted in QLD on the Gold Coast, and with luck on our side, will, and should be, the biggest pest management event ever held in this country.

The successes of this year for AEPMA and the Australian Pest Management Industry are again a team effort of all National Board Directors committing to, and fulfilling their roles and responsibilities admirably.  In addition, many, many more, have contributed their time and resources on a voluntary basis to drive AEPMA and the Australian Pest Management Industry forward.

Stephen and his team of Kate, Kirsten and Craig have also gone above and beyond to support the AEPMA Board and the direction of the industry, and on behalf of the Board, I thank them for their efforts.

As I complete my 7th year as AEPMA President, I sincerely thank each and every member and supporter for their ongoing and continued efforts for this industry, and look forward to the year ahead and future beyond.

David Gay
