Stout Sac Spiders have stronger legs with robust, cylindrical bodies. Males especially, have slender bodies, large jaws and long, thin legs.
The stout sac spider makes small cylindrical or ovoid silk retreat sacs.
Sometimes found on house walls and fences, these spiders are most common in bushland under bark and in leaf litter.
Bites are not common from the stout sac spider and symptoms are usually minor, although bites have been known to cause headache, nausea and minor skin ulceration.
