The AEPMA NSW ACT State Council meeting was held on 18th July 2016 at the office of Globe Pest Solutions, 39 Gow Street, Padstow. The meeting opened at 4.15pm. The Chairman welcomed guests, Life Member, Mr Malcolm Trotter (Pink Pest Control) and Mr Colin Urey (Dropdead Pest Control) to the meeting.
After the usual meeting formalities, the Chairman, Mr Patrick Legey (Austrapest) mentioned that there were 29 new members to the Association in 2015 Australia wide, 14 new members so far for 2016 and five previous members have re-joined AEPMA after letting their membership lapse.
The new NSW ACT National director, Mr Gary Stephenson (Flick/ Antiximex) gave his report on the AEPMA Board, Australian Standard 3660.2 Review Committee, soon to be released new HACCP, Codes of Practice for Termite Management During New Construction, for Termite Management in Existing Buildings and for Training in Pest Management all of which are almost ready for release.
A considerable part of the meeting was taken up with discussion on Pest Management Licencing in NSW and what the requirements should be.
Patrick Legey encourages any members with constructive suggestions on this matter or anything else to contact him or any of the other Council members in writing prior to the next meeting. All correspondence received will be discussed. Members are also encouraged to attend a State Council meeting to see how things are done. He pointed out that this is strictly for members only!
He also reminded all about the coming FAOPMA/ AEPMA conference to be held on 14-16 September 2016 at Sea World on the Gold Coast where there will be world class presentations, a trade show, a gala dinner, networking opportunities and more… an event not to be missed!!
