A Spotlight on Pestec - Pest Manager of the Year 2015

Posted on: 29/09/2015

Congratulations go to Rowan & Pania Gregson, principals of Pestec from Narellan, near Sydney - winners of the Pest Manager of the Year >5 employees category, NSW Pest Manager of the Year and the 2015 National Pest Manager of the Year.

“It was a great thrill to win the award, particularly given the high calibre of the pest management companies we were competing against”.

The Sydney based company was also last year’s NSW Pest Manager of the Year award winner.  Pania says the benefits flowing from winning this year’s award has exceeded their expectations.  She says, “It is quite amazing how much mileage we are getting off such an award.  It has been more than probably what we expected, and we are aware of new business that we got as a direct result of that.”

Pania says winning the award has helped to place the company in the minds of its clients.  “We’ve always strived to be a ‘5-star player in this industry’ and having these awards has just cemented that.  We put that promotion in our emails, advertising on radio and on printed stationery.  So it’s really being able to get out there to people that it’s not just us saying that, that our industry feels that way as well.”

When asked what they felt their business strengths were that led to their award, they replied “Pestec has a credible and recognisable brand associated with professionalism and expertise.  We have a solid reputation in the industry and maintain strong relationships with many industry professionals.  Our systems, training and dedicated team of professionals ensure that our customers receive a consistently high level of service and expertise which in turn results in a high rate of repeat and referral business.”

Rowan and Pania have spent many years cultivating ties with the community such as providing lucky door prizes to local charity fundraising events, volunteering their time on committees that coordinate local business and community events. Pania also sits on the board of the NSW Business Chamber South Western Sydney Regional Advisory Council.

Rowan finishes off by adding, “We feel that there are tangible business benefits to winning the award and would really encourage as many pest managers as possible to enter the competition next year. We would like to thank the awards sponsors, BASF for their ongoing commitment to industry excellence and also to AEPMA for providing a forum to recognise high performance.”
