Fumithor Delta eliminates a wide range of crawling and flying insect pests in enclosed areas such as roof voids, subfloors, storage sheds, warehouses, shipping containers, commercial buildings, industrial facilities and public spaces; as well as agricultural areas including grain silos, glasshouses, animal housing and other agricultural buildings.
Ensystex’s Regional Director, Mr Steve Broadbent, advised, “The Fumithor Delta presentation has been greatly improved. Previously we employed a tablet in a plastic pouch that had to be lit. The new presentation is provided in a 40 g tin with a ring pull lid exposing a wick. The wick is lit to provide easier lighting and further improvements to the dynamic smoke dispersion technology™.
At the same time as we registered the improved formulation, bed bugs were added to the label. Fumithor Delta provides a very high dose of insecticide into all the inaccessible areas, penetrating deep into the tiniest cracks and crevices where bed bugs hide. So, if you have missed any spots, with your residual treatment, the Deltathor Smoke is likely to make sure they are hit and killed. With particle sizes down to just 1 micron, the smoke can penetrate into places that are simply not reached by sprays.
Data generated by the Applied Physics Department at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia showed the mean particle size range was between 1.3 and 2.7 microns, which ensures this thorough penetration of the smoke into the tiniest cracks and crevices.
Further studies on the geometrical descent of the smoke showed a quick and uniform deposition of the product such that, two hours after application, the Fumithor Delta was completely deposited. Fumithor Delta uses no solvents, is non-tainting and leaves no residual odour. This is due to the cutting-edge dynamic smoke dispersion technology™ which is designed to be easier to use and more effective than ULV sprays, thermal fogging treatments and other smoke treatments.
The active constituent, 20 g/kg deltamethrin, is deposited onto vertical and horizontal surfaces, including the undersides of horizontal surfaces, ensuring the most thorough treatment possible. ‘Quite simply, there is nowhere for the pests to hide from Fumithor Delta!’ Fumithor Delta is available in a pack of 6x 40 g Generators, each treating 250 – 500 m3.
When dealing with bed bugs, we recommend that a residual treatment is performed first. Bithor® Dual Action Insecticide is recommended for this purpose. This contains two actives with two totally different modes of action to control even the toughest most resistant bugs. Bithor provides the foundation for the residual control of the bed bugs.
Bithor was evaluated in trials at the Institute of Clinical Pathology and Medical Research (ICPMR) at Westmead Hospital, against a highly pyrethroid-resistant strain of the common bed bug (Cimex lectularius Linnaeus), in which it provided 100% control after two hours exposure.
Similarly, in trials against a pyrethroid-resistant strain of the tropical bed bug (Cimex hemipterus Fabricus), performed by the Department of Medical Entomology (DME) in Thailand, Bithor proved 100% effective in all replicates, and outperformed all other products tested.
Bithor provides fast kill of bed bugs, but more importantly, it provides improved residual performance and controls all life stages. The high potency of Bithor arises out of the potentiation that occurs between the two active ingredients. This means that each active makes the other more effective. And since they work at different target sites on the insect nervous system, the end result is the most powerful and versatile insecticide on the market.
By combining the two products together, it enables professionals to provide the most thorough bed bug treatment with the Fumithor Delta ensuring no bugs are missed.
