2023 Highlights

Posted on: 20/12/2023

Dear AEPMA Members,

I would like to provide you with a brief overview of some key developments and initiatives undertaken by AEPMA over the past 12 months:.

Regular Branch Meetings: Thank you to our State Representatives and Branch Secretaries for their efforts in organising AEPMA branch meetings throughout the year. These meetings were well-attended and provided an excellent platform to share information and stay updated on regional developments. If you haven't attended one before, please consider participating in some in 2024.

Sustainability Award: In 2023, we introduced the inaugural Sustainability Award, generously sponsored by Ensystex. The initial recipient of this award was Scorpion Pest. We are excited to announce that nominations for the 2024 Sustainability Award will be available shortly.

Pest Manager of the Year: The Pest Manager of the Year competition in 2023 received numerous entries across all four categories. Congratulations to all the winners, and we look forward to an equally successful competition in 2024.  We would also like to thank BASF for their support of this award.

Innovation Award: The 2023 Innovation Award was presented to the  team at Flick Anticimex for their groundbreaking SMART solution, which allows for continuous, real-time monitoring and analysis of pest infestations. We would like to thank Envu for their generous sponsorship of this award.

Excellence Award & AEPMA Life Membership:  Once again, I would like to  congratulate Patrick Legey, the deserving recipient of the  Excellence Award, proudly sponsored by Envu. In recognition of his exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication to our organisation and our industry, Patrick has also been honored with the distinction of AEPMA Life Membership.

Pesticon 2023 – The theme for Pesticon 2023 was "What Customers Want" and judging on the feedback we have received it is safe to say that our national conference was resounding sucess. We look forward to seeing you at Pesticon 2024.

General Enquiries: This year, the AEPMA National Office experienced a significant increase in inquiries from the public seeking pest controllers in their area and asking various pest-related questions. It's worth noting that over 80% of all Pest Control work in Australia is carried out by AEPMA members.

I would like to extend my  thanks to the AEPMA Board for their invaluable assistance throughout the year.

David Gay - Director
Gary Stephenson - National Director – NSW
John Murray - National Director – QLD
Eris Hess - National Director – Associates
Rob Boschma - National Director – VIC
Lindsay Hollingsworth - National Director – WA
Anthony Beyer - National Director – SA
Stephen Ware - Executive Director

I wish to thank each and every AEPMA member for your unwavering support over the past year.

On behalf of the AEPMA Board of Directors and our dedicated team in the National Office, I extend warm wishes for a joyful and prosperous festive season. May 2024 bring you and your families happiness and success.

Warm regards,

Vasili Tsoutouras

AEPMA President
