A message from Founder, Nicky Turner:
I am excited to launch the new Professional Women In Australian Pest Management (PWAPM) organisation and page, together with the help of Michelle Eastwood from Pestrid Pest Control, Sydney.
Our mission is to attract, develop and support women in the pest management industry. Unique windows of opportunities have opened up to women involved in pest management. The industry has become more welcoming to women at all levels, including upper management, office administration, employees, sales and representatives, technicians and insurance, to name just a few.
Still, it is critical to keep up the momentum! Now is the ideal time for women to support each other and continue to make an impact in pest management.
After visiting the United States and attending PestWorld 2018 Conference in Orlando recently, I had the opportunity to be a part of the Professional Women In Pest Management (PWIPM) there.
It has inspired me to create a successful group of like-minded women in our industry here in Australia. I was blown away with the professionalism and dedication of the group, as well as the sponsorship offered to support the group from industry suppliers. It has been an idea I have had for a number of years, that was always dismissed with the excuse of being time poor. There have been a number of groups for Women in Pest Management in Australia in the past, but none have seemed to be able to offer the ongoing networking events and online social support, that I believe is needed in the industry.
I will soon be approaching more female industry leaders from each state, to become state representatives and industry suppliers to help make this group a success. Anyone can access the page, however only women involved in the Australian Pest Management Industry can join the closed group and become a member.
Members will receive newsletters and invitations to networking events from 2019, as well as have the continued support from all members in the closed group page. The page will give women the opportunity to gather, inspire each other and grow opportunities in this industry.

Don’t forget to like the page and make sure all you ladies request to join the closed group! There is no cost to become a member and keep an eye out for the PWAPM website!
