Stratton Finance was established by Rob Chaloner in 1998, operating out of a small office at the rear of a Melbourne Land Rover dealership.
The one-person operation initially relied on referrals from the dealership, but word of mouth quickly spread and with rapid growth meant the company soon started employing additional staff to help meet the demand.

Strong growth continued over the following years, with Stratton Finance establishing itself as one of Australia's leading car finance brokers as well as greatly expanding the range of services offered to its clients. In 2005 the company expanded its local presence into Queensland with the opening of a new office in Brisbane.

2008 saw the continuation of rapid growth with new local offices in Sydney and Perth, and the launch of our franchise network. In 2013, we relocated our head office to new state-of-the-art facilities in Port Melbourne.

Today, Stratton Finance has a national network with offices in most capital cities, and is the largest asset finance broker in Australia. In 2014, we became part of the Carsales network with carsales.com Ltd—Australia's number 1 automotive classifieds business — Carsales making a major investment into the business which is testament to our expert knowledge, innovative solutions, and seamless client service.
